What is cash balance?
Cash balance is a holding area, (similar to a bank account) that you can use for many transactions within Securitize Markets, like to receive dividend payouts, use to fund primary market investments, or store proceeds of sales from secondary market trades to name a few.
Can I use my cash balance to fund primary market investments?
Yes, a cash balance is especially useful for funding primary offerings. Investors can pre-fund their cash balance, so they can purchase an offering the day that it launches or when an attractive new trade is listed, should they choose to do so.
What are the benefits of having cash balance?
- Instant deposits - Connect your bank account or pay using your credit card or debit card
- Deposit USDC from your wallet - Easily deposit USDC from your personal Ethereum wallet.
- Easily withdraw your funds - Withdraw the funds from your cash balance to your bank, or transfer USDC to your wallet.
Are there any fees associated with a cash balance?
No, there are no fees associated with holding a cash balance.
Can I transfer crypto into cash balance?
At this time, USDC is the only supported cryptocurrency. You may transfer USDC into your cash balance; however, it will convert to USD upon arrival.
What currencies can my cash balance hold?
Right now, a cash balance can hold only USD. You may transfer USDC into your cash balance; however, it will convert to USD upon arrival. We hope to offer other currencies in the future.
Is there a fee for currency conversion for deposits and withdrawals? Not at this time.
Does the cash balance earn interest? No, it does not.
Do I need to have a cash balance? No, it is not necessary to have this in order to invest through Securitize.
